Font - I had to get a doctor note so I can have more than six minutes a day for bathroom breaks I work in a call center (biggest mistake of my life, I knew it would suck but it's exceeded my expectations) and I was recently told I was taking too much time for bathroom breaks. We're allowed 30 minutes a week and I was taking 44.

Font - I'm technically able to do it in the allowed time but I'm just annoyed about every aspect of the job and this was the last straw. I had a doctor appointment and I said that I've been taking longer than usual so I need a note for my employer because they monitor our time.

Font - So now I'm taking as much time as I want and taking extra little mental health breaks labelled as bathroom time. I'm way too old to be treated like a f child. F call centers! Never work in one if you can help it.

Font - I'm obviously looking for a new job and should have one soon but thanks to this great country's awesome policy of tying our health insurance to our employer I need to wait until I get one. And I'm being very picky this time

Font - Made_Human76 OP. 21 hr. ago It's more of a desire to not get crushed by medical debt or even die because I can't see a doctor for treatment.

Font - But I do have a higher tolerance for bull than some people, that tolerance gets lower every year though.

Font - Neverhugaduck 21 hr. ago I remember working in a call center and having to dial in a code on my phone any time I stopped working. There were different codes for taking a smoke break, using the bathroom, taking lunch. Everything was tracked and you would be addressed by a manager if you took too long pooping. At that point in my life I don't think anything had made me feel less like a human and more like a mere cog in a machine.

Font - Made_Human76 OP. 21 hr. ago If I was younger and less experienced I'd have less of a problem with it but I've been working in a professional environment for over 25 years and I'm way too old for this.

Font - I take responsibility for accepting the offer in the first place but I really thought I'd be able to handle it for a short time and prove myself like I've always done. I didn't realize there's not much chance to shine when I'm being treated like a child.

Font - mwhulett1978 - 17 hr. ago . Worked at a call center for DirecTV for almost a year. The pay was good if, and only if, you made sales. It didn't matter why the customer reached out to you, you were expected to make a sale. Wanna reduce your bill? Okay, but here's an HBO offer that will raise your bill by $x per month.

Font - Want to cancel your service? Great. Let me get you transferred to CRT (Customer Retention Team) so you can get a great deal to stay with us, be locked into a 2 year contract, and your bill will be much lower than it is...for 6 months. After the 6 months are over, tour bill will be more than it is now, but we don't care. We hooked you in for another 2 years.

Font - Everything on a call center is scheduled by a blind orangutan in another county. You might work 8 hours and have lunch scheduled during hour 7. Maybe hour 1. Who cares? If you quit, we have a stack of applications a foot high of people who need any job that will replace you.

Font - F call centers. They're just people mills. New faces every day. No reasons for being late or absent are considered excused. Just a pure hell in a cubicle

Font - Explodistan 21 hr. ago . You could be a stellar employee by pooping and peeing in your desk area. Screw that job, if someone said I took too much bathroom time I would immediately walk
